Default can't choose an engine!

i have been considering going K series

ive been reading up alot on quite a few articles

but then i have also been considering going B series

and having a crazy combo

CAR: 1996 civic ej6 LX four door sedan

B series:

B20B block
B16A head
type R tranny
turbo

K series:

K24 out of element
possible tyre r or s head
type r or s tranny
turbo

basically they are the same combo but just different families

i would want to go B series because of it's proven power, lower budget, and more natural in the chassis

though i would want to go K series due to new technology with massive amounts of power, though it is not as comfortable in my bay, higher budget, and a bitch to get in

what im looking for is if anyone has ever turbo'd a K24

i know they have a low *** compression ration so i image it would preform fairly well stock

and how much of a pain it was to route the piping for the intercooler

i also know that there is no external fuel return line on the K series engines and that would make forced induction even more of a pain

if i had no budget.. i would go K .. just spending 5,000+ grand on a swap would be hard for me to do .. so id go B ..

just set you a goal and go after it..

An H22 would be a great swap for your chubby car. and it fits comfortably in your chassis.

but go with a K series if you want Honda-Tech to love you.

Good luck.

H22 FTW.

Lower cost than B-series, more power out of the box, more potential later. Displacement >*

but it's a sleevless block

so it wouldn't be too safe to run that much boost without investing quite a bit of money

i need to go spend some time on the H22 forums again

boy ill tell ya, in the past 4 months ive gone from seriously going b20vtec, H22, LS, Ls/vtec, ZC, K24, and now im thinking of going H22 again

the choices the choices

gotta love 'em

buit gotta hate 'em

You can't figure a block's reliability by psi, it's by whp. It should handle 300whp reliably though I have seen 430whp put down w/ stock sleeves tuned on an sc-61. Or you could do an f22 block w/ h22 head and get iron sleeves and the coveted VTEC head.

it's got enough torque, gunna be daily driven, and seems more practical for me

HOW LARGE IS YOUR BUDGET?
LARGE BUDGET = K24/K20-R HEAD
LOW BUDGET = B MOTOR
