Can I pass ref?
Hey, I'm going to be taking my car to the ref soon to get it bar'd and smogged.
Here's the problem, I bought a 1996 gsr block a couple months back. Before I bought it, i checked the vin number on car fax to see if it was reported stolen and nothing showed up about it being stolen. I also called the local police station, but they said I had to bring the block in but I didn't have the block yet. I ended up buying it and about a week later I notice on the block where it is suppose to say b18c1, someone took a dremel or something to the C and filled in the gap and had a slash through it like ø. I called up the seller and he said the block was legit and nothing is wrong with it so I just took his word for it.
Now If I take it to the ref and the block was legit would I pass the visual part since the the letter was modified??
Aother question, I have a 95 Ls. Since 96+ motors are obd2 would I have to convert everything to obd2 or can I just keep it obd1?
