Building a Hybrid.
Hello everyone,
I just recently purchased a EG. Stock, 135k miles, and red. The car has a clear title, frame is straight, and exterior/interior is in moderate shape. I have been contemplating the thought of purchasing a B18C (USDM), and or B16A (JDM). How much different is it to install a USDM engine over a JDM engine?
I would also like to know what are some manditory things that I should do to this engine once i have recieved it from the donar? (do most companies check all parts on the engine? like head, block, exhaust manifold, sensors, alternator, starter, etc)
I plan on installing this engine myself, with the assistance of my father. (who has some experience doing engine swaps.)
Would also like to know what other misc parts will be needed in order to complete a swap with either engine, and if possible would be greatly appreciated if someone could send me a personal account or log of the progress of there engine swap.
Take it easy, I appreciate all replies!

Nice nice, well doing a hybrid is not a smiple task I would say. Just make sure that when you are getting the motor, and has an oppourtunity, do a compression test on each cylinder and see what it comes out to. That should pretty much tell the health of the motor. Make sure that you get the reciept too. This is something that I went though that gave me a nightmare so. Some kinda of reciept with VIN number and everything on it. It can be salvage reciept or any solid documents. Installation part is the easiest I would say. Probaby about one day or day and a half if you have two people working on it comfortably. Remember, rushing will only do you harm!
