brake upgrade
Hi has anyone done a brake swap ,putting prelude 92 v tec calipers and rotors on a 94 civic hatch,is it a straight swap.

on your 94 civic hb, unless you've swapped out your knuckles, chances are that you have DX knuckles, which uses 9.5" rotors in the front. the prelude calipers are stamped 17CL15VN (this is the same caliper found on the integra type-r). once you obtain the calipers, the brackets (stamped 23T or 25T) must be sent to a machine shop & milled 2-3mm or 1/8" (where the bracket mates with the knuckle). the milled brackets can be used with the 17CL15VN itr, legend gs 2-piston & nsx calipers.
for rotors, use 10.3" rotor from any 90-01 integra. the brake pads also must be filed down (or grinded) slightly to clear the hat of the rotor.
* on your 94 civic hb, upgrade your m/c from a 90-91 civic ex 4-door.''''/////// since the 17CL15VN caliper uses a bigger piston, you'll need to swap out to a bigger master brake cylinder to push more fluid.
