Default Bouncy TACH.

anyone ever had problems with there tach bouncing all over the place when your racing?? i got an obd2 98 Gs-R wired to a 95 ECU. its in a 95 civic hatch vx. cold air intake stock headers and msd ignition.....i know i need headers but i didnt do any of the mods on it now. anywayz i ran a 14.9 on vx 13's and hit rev limiter 2 times lol cuz i didnt know where the hell it was...plus my reaction time sucked because it was my first time. but my next 2 runs gave me a 14.5....obviously my tach worked for me that time.. it usually will go and then kinda bounce up then come down a little bit i dont know what the hell is wrong.

okay the green wire is the tach signal, did you hook it up to the MSD box or did you hook it up to the check connector in the car? Another thing is your ground, make sure you have a really good ground because if it is loose then that will cause the tach to go crazy.

Back from the dead. Im haveing this same problem in an ef, the problem started after swaping out trannys. I saw in a few other threads people talking about a ground. Well my question is what ground exactly are they talking about?

I would like to know which ground too. My tach is bouncing like crazy, so I went to see if I had a loose wire near the dizzy-nope. but I did find a wire with the rubber sealant melted off. I taped over that and it worked better for a little bit but now its back. Redo the tranny ground?
