Default bogging problem, low rpm, cold???

b18b1 into a 97 ek. when motors still cold, in low rpms, mainly first two gears, it boggs down and hesitates. the first couple of months it didn't happen, but it's becoming more of a problem. also i'm getting a intake air temp code. i've tested the sensor, and i'm sure i have an open circuit somewhere. like before, the first couple of months, i didn't have this problem. i'm looking for someone who can tell me they know how to fix the situation, so i don't have to go hunting for wires! any help is appreciated. negative comments can suck it, thanks.

Just put a diode in the IAT sensor it will hemp temp fix just to see if it runs any better. but, i highly doubt thats the case. Check wires, plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter

also i might be a good idea to do a compression check ! could be a little low on comp if its a older motor. when it warms up it metal expands explains why only happens when cold

edit i suck at typing

Same problem i'm having ... worst part is i recently bought the car & had the problem the next day , argh !!! the guy sold me a lemon.

so i took it in for diagnostics at my local shop & they tell me theres a cracked piston ring in #1 & oil is landing on the piston which is the problem suggestion : rebuild or swap motor ...

so i waste 300 bucks to go buy a z6 long block @ the local junkyard and go through the hastle of swapping in the motor etc . turn the car over and it turns over like a champ ... the next day i have the same issue

sadly i realized i wasted 300 bucks, so i just went & tried a fuel filter and that didn't help anything else ...

I think whats left to change is the dizzy, plugs & fuel pump ...

i'm running out of ideas and more importantly money so someone help us out !

that sucks! i have new plugs and wires, my ignition timing is right on, it's got to be iat sensor related. i've checked the intake temp with a scan tool, and it says the intake air is a constant 370 degrees. when i unplug it there is no change either, stays at 370.

i unpluged iat sensor today and it seems to have solved the problem. so i'm thinking its the sensor that's gone bad. i have an extra sensor i will try tomorrow. thanks for all the feedback
