Are there any aftermarket block girdles besides the z10 girdle, preferably one that was completely bolt on including main cap bolts? Also If I was going to get the z10 girdle would I have to have anything machined to fit? I have a b20z fully built and I will be revving to 8,000rpms with my crower 404's so I definitely need a girdle just not sure on which to get. I need help asap.

Re: block girdle for b20!?!? (b20ek)

My old B20 block (sold to a friend) and he resleeved it and built it up from scratch, using the Z10 girdle. No machining needed. Just dyno'd 204 to the wheels with a Y21, Hondata, old-skool DC 4-2-1 header, and GReddy SP exhaust. Haven't really seen any other girdles except for the stock GSR one, and that one you do have to modify to fit.

You could possible use a gsr girdle if you used the gsr main caps also. There was a post about a new girdle that came out but it was awhile back.Best thing to do is check the archives.

If you only plan on revving to 8k rpm, then you don't need a block girdle. The stock bottom end is good to 8.5k with the addition of ARP rod bolts.

But if you have your heart set on a block girdle, then try out the GSR/ITR girdle. Same **** has to be done to make it work though, compared to the Z10 girdle.

Like I said, if you only plan on reving to 8k, there is no need for a girdle. I added some ARP rod bolts for insurance on my LSVTEC...and I have numerous friends with these motors. One friend has had his motor for 2years and he takes it to 8500rpm every day, with no girdle and stock rod bolts.

Re: block girdle for b20!?!? (WAFFLES)
i would add the girdle. it will take the some of the pressure from the crank and the bearings, and most people dont think about this but 8000 rpm is already extremely high for a motor with a stock rev limit of about 7rpm. get it and rev all you want all day everyday lol without worries.

Re: block girdle for b20!?!? (J2turbo21)
IMO... I wouldnt use the GSR main caps or that girdle. Why? Cuz the main caps wont match up perfectly to the b20.

I have had my b20/vtec for 40k now... stock bottomend. 8400 rpms all day long. Drag strip, circuit racing, & God forbid... daily driven.

Re: block girdle for b20!?!? (pest)
wow thats good..ive only had mine for 11k...
you dont use the GSR caps..your suppose to mill-down the center of the girdle to match the B20's caps..then bolt it up with GSR cap bolts....!

Re: block girdle for b20!?!? (10K2HVN)
yesterday i mis-shifted my crvtec, stock bottom end with ITR cams and stock b16 valvetrain, i rev'd to over 10k... went from topping out 4th misshifted into 3rd.

Car runs fine, no problems.... i rev to 8200 all the time, i dunno what a girdle would do for me.
