Default best place for engine?

Okay I am not hearing good things about Osaka Motors and I am getting kind of skeptical about buying from them...Has anyone ever purchased a motor from them...How was your motor? and did you feel about their customer service? Would anyone recommend buying from someone else? If yes, why?

I just got a B16A SIR II swap from Osaka. Engine looks good. My mechanic said it looks good and complete. My install should start on Wednesday, I'll let you know how it runs. Mark @ Osaka is going to overnight a couple of parts to finish it off(front trans mount, ect).

I would recommed ImportBuilders. http://www.importbuilders.com

(Although, I don't know if I should because the engine I bought from them is still sitting on my garage floor since I just received it a week ago and haven't had the chance to swap it in)

However, the only sell completely rebuilt motors (and can go from little mods to extremely moded depending on what you want to pay) and they end up being a little pricy. But except for the block, crank, and head... all other internal parts, pumps, belts, bearings, gaskets, etc are brand new. And the crank is balanced and polished.

Also, Jeff (from Import Builders) had been exteamly helpful, cooperative, and patient dealing with all my calls, Emails, and questions I've had so far (and I haven't even begun the swap). And he always responded to my question by the next day.

The only down side I've had so far is that when I placed the order, I was told it would take about 6-8 weeks to have it done and shipped (because the were busy and had a lot of orders). It ended up taking about 10 weeks. And that is not too bad except for that fact that I was trying to get some friends together to help me with the swap, and Jeff kept telling me it would me shipped next week, next week, next week, for about three weeks. And I had to keep rescheduling with my friends, and because of that, I had to ended up rescheduling the swap to be done the weekend after thanksgiving. (if you want I'll keep you posted on how it goes, if you are going to be waiting that long before you order your engine).

But over all, I have been extreamly pleased with their cooperation with me (even after the order, payment, and my receiving the engine). And he has been adiment with me to continue to let him know of any questions and concerns about the swap is willing continue to help me and advice me with it. Also, even with there delays in finishing the engine and shipping it, Jeff was very honest and upfront with me about the delays and complications they were running into.

So, I am very pleased. But as I said, I haven't actually swapped the engine in and found out how it runs yet. So I don't know that I should be recommending them yet.

So, take if for what it's worth.... Good luck!

Default Engine from Osaka- installed

My engine is installed Wouldn't start. Bad distributer. Borrowed one from another b16, started right up. Mark is going to overnight a replacement today. Engine has a few scratches on the valve cover and the oil cap is broken (minor I know). All the internals looked good, timing belt like new, water pump good ect. I will give you compression#s when everything is done....
