i saw a b21 at a local junkyard.. it was like outta a older prelude? can anyone confirm that there are b21's? cuz this thing looked funny

 

Yep the b21 is from the earlier preludes. Some people say it is the worst motor honda ever made because it has a bad R/S ratio. Most of the parts are not even interchangeable with other b series motors.

 

Ah yeah BAD motor. I saw someone trying to sell one on classifieds as the "ultimate" CRVtec swap. I feel sorry for the poor sod who ends up with that one.

 

i won't get into it, but yes, the b21a1 is from a 90-91 prelude. the only components that are compatible with this motor without fabrication are from the b20a5 - the other prelude motor from 88-91. the motor is not as bad as everyone seems to think, but if you are looking for the crv motors, they are the other b20 series. those have many more possibilities for enhancement without spending an arm and a leg.

 

hehe.. not planning on buying that crap.. looked hella shitty.. just wondered about it cuz i have never seen or heard about a b21 i'm not big on the crvtec ls/vtec stuff.. been there done that.. it was fun.. but i had to pass my ls/vtec to someone who needs it more(speeddave)
