If you're building it than I have no doubts it'll blow up.
There is a proper way to build a reliable ls/vtec-b20/vtec. They don't just "blow up".

I built a crvtec twice and this happened both times. This is my over all sumery.
It was preaty cheap to build. defenetly had a Sh*t load of power. What i used in this build was a stock b20b and stock gsr head/tranny. the guy who changed a couple of my valves after the first motor said that i had dual springs. what i think the problem was is my computer spoon fuel map i think it was 5000 vtec 9500 redline. everything was great it seamed like it wanted to go past 8000 guess i was wrong. There were a few signs first was somtimes it would blow the plug wires of the dizzy at extreme high rev don't remember when put zip ties on them to fix the prob. second was it used to blow the dip stick out at about 8700. never had a chance to fix that. i know your all thinkin
. but it was so hard to control myself with a rev hard motor.
anyways i belive to get reliability out of this motor would be to change the rods and proper fuel management and there shouldn't be a prob. also WATCH YOUR OVER REV!!
I gave up on that its the F20b/gsr now!! 2.0 forever!

Like in any build, if its done right the first time you wont have issues like they post here "it just blew up" or "ls/vtec b20/vtec = ticking bomb".
I personally have as one of my daily drivers a 00 DC4 with and LSVTEC setup built since December 04, besides a clutch and oil changes, I have not had any issues with the engine and it still pulls strong.
