The zillions of perfectly-running '97-01 CR-Vs out there would lead one to believe that it is pretty "reliable."

There you go, a vague answer for your vague question.

ok for stock or light mod with out sleeves. i have a stock b20b bottom end ( i got it unassebled and reassembled it) i used acl bearings and arp head studs and some nippon piston rings and integra type r oil pump in my bottom end. as for the head its all stock but a set of crower 403 cams (will be getting springs and retainers before my final tune) but its fine. they will run fine all day long if kept under 7000 rpms. and with out boost. alot of people have had problems with boost without having sleeved them. but generally its all in the tune.

Well the weak points are the sleeves and the rod bolts, both of which you have changed, so are you asking about the actual block casting, or what? Better questions yield better answers.

In general, the engine is very good, with proper maintenance goes for a long time, the resource b20b about 300 thousand kilometers and more. If the motor came and requires overhaul, it is easier and cheaper to buy a contract engine B20B, the price does not bite. Source: https://www.motorxpertisehub.com/hon...-2-0-l-engine/
