drives fine until i hit vtec sounds like its sputtering. before vtec wasnt working until i changed my oil and i banged out my oil pan cause it had a small dent. now im happy i have vtec now.. but the sputtering is annoying. feels like the vtec is turning on and off or something. oil level is good and the solenoid gasket is good. what else could be the problem?

 

You're gonna need to give a little bit more info than that...

What car?
What ecu?
Tuned or not?
Fuel system setup?
Ignition setup?

 

sorry i have a 1994 civic si ran it with a stock p28 and a p73 still does the same thing. its stock and not tuned. i have a oil leak on the cam seals i believe but would it cause that problem?

 

what is the timing set at and do you have any cel's?

 

Could be low oil pressure when vtec engages, one thing to check is the middle cam cap, there's an o ring that might be worn out letting oil out

 

Def check your oil pressure before you damage anything else. Also check the screen in your solenoid as it may have debris as well.
