B18B into 91 CRX Si
Hi,
I was thinking of putting a new B18B with a JDM B16a1 cable tranny. Will this combo work? What engine mounts do you recommend?
If so, which tranny do i get? I hear stuff like Y1, J1, S1. I'd prefer one that doesnt rev really high cuz i do alot of highway driving.
So how much should I be looking at for a complete motor but without the tranny? And how much for a JDM B16a1 cable tranny?
Thanks in advance.

Re: B18B into 91 CRX Si (Dru-Si)
The y1 has the longest ratios, but with the ls motor will be a little different because no vtec. It won't be as fast out of the hole as long as you stay n/a. My B16 y1 for instance pulls about 4800 around 75-80. I just adjust the vtec switch over up on long trips.

Well, i guess i might be able to offer a little help
As for axles, depends on which intermediate shaft you have. For the passenger side, a 90-93 Integra axle is definatly what you need. As for the drivers side, that depends on the intermediate shaft... If you have a int shaft from a 90-93 integ, you can use the 90-93 axle on this side as well. There is a spacer in the hub, and a spacer on the end of the axle you remove to make room for the slightly longer axle. If you do get a JDM tranny, it probably wont come with the int shaft, but if it does you have a little work in store for you. The JDM int shaft is different. I beleive you need to get a 90-93 AND an 87-89 integra axle, and split and combine the two to make the correct length axle. If you have time to do some reading, go to www.hasport.com/B16axles.htm for just about everything you need to know. BTW, this info applies if you use HPC mounts as well. From the info i gathered, they both place the engine in about the same spot.
