B18 piston & rod upgrades HEEEEEEEELP!!
Hi
i'm in a bit of a mess at the moment, my heads spinning with ideas that i don't know will work or not
idealy i'd like to get the B18 Type R bottom end, but in the UK they're like rocking horse s**t to get hold of, no breakers yards will split engine & i can't afford to buy complete unit
If i get a B18 from a Civic, , are there high compression pistons available, i havn't been able to find much listed, everything is listed for the Type R version. TBH i don't know a great deal about the diffs between the B18 family
Could i buy a B18 Civic block, then buy a set of JDM Integra Type R pistons? what about the rods?
In fact, would i be able to use the JDM EK9 Type R oversized pistons that i've got in my B16 block?
Thanks
Craig

Re: B18 piston upgrades (craigmk2crx)
All of the pistons that you mentioned, and short blocks, are all 81mm bore size. You can get oversized pistons, like .020 for example, and hone the block to accept the oversized pistons. As for the rods, you would use the stock rods and depeding on what pistons you want to use, you may have to get them pressed and/or machined to fit the piston onto them.

Re: B18 piston upgrades (Newman)
Hi
i've just ordered the JDM o/sized ITR pistons, i'm also thinking of getting a set of Type R rods, but somebody on a UK forum told me that the ITR rods may not fit the crank in the B18C4 block i've also just bought
I don't suppose you have any idea if it they will fit the B18C4 crank?
Thanks
Craig
