b16a2 in a sol, problems?

The OBD-2 motor's distributor has one plug where your stock harness has a 2 plug connection for the distributor so you'll want to get the OBD-1 DOHC VTEC distributor. I believe you can get the sub base assembly fairly cheap for the '94 GSR, but I'm not sure. They sell it for around $125 I think. Just put in the ignitor from the Civic Si distributor in there and put in the NEC chip looking thing from your OBD-1 SOHC VTEC distributor and keep the connections straight. I know this as I just put a '96 GSR into a '95 del Sol Si. You will also need the del Sol VTEC linkage, both bars, as I'm pretty sure they are not the same. We also tried using the GSR alternator with that stock harness but the plug didn't match up. We ended up rigging up the bracket to put the stock alternator onto the GSR motor. You may just need a '94-'95 B series distributor for the clean look. Double check that when you swap over the wire harness. IM me for more specific questions if you want.

Depends what motor you mean. A B16A2 from a 96 or 97 del Sol probably (I haven't seen one close up) has the correct harness plugs to "plug and play". The 99-00 Civic Si harness is useless, so you'll need an alternative OR custom repinning. I put a 99 Civic Si swap into my 93 del Sol Si (D16Z6)......I used an ITR engine harness, custom rear mount bracket (but I think a del Sol VTEC rear bracket works ok). You also need the del Sol VTEC shift linkages, and a/c bracket. Oh, and the front engine/tranny mounts (under the fender) are a little different, but you can shim with washers. No biggie. I did it with a hoist and air tools, but that was the first major mechanical work I ever did.
Oh yeah, and send off your P28 to hondata to get it chipped. I did. You lose the knock sensor, but I have not had any problems so far (>12000 miles and counting!)
