b16a2 ek vtec problem

i have a ek hatch with a b16a2 swap and for some reason my tach (si gauge cluster) does not work and vtec wont kick in. can you guys tell me some places to start out with to check. thank you

have you checked to make sure that the spedo cable is securly attached to the VSS and the clip is holding it in?
