b16a1, b16a2, b16a3 head...... differences....?
I'm sure someone asked the same question b4 but i can't find it in the search so here goes again. I'm building a ls/vtec, is there a difference in which generation b16 head i use?
i have heard the 2nd gen heads have better cooling passages. not sure what cylinders are lacking cooling, but i know the 2nd gen is better. the cam shaft holder plate is also different on the 2nd gen heads as well.
ok, so there's lil differences, but is there any dramatic? does it REALLY make a difference? HELP! b4 i make a mistake of buying a b16a1 longblock, haha
The 2nd gen has better flow as well the cam profiles are much better than the 1st gen head. Just be sure you do not end up with a 2nd gen jdm b16a auto head. The redline is lower as well as the cams are not that good. Hope this helps.
