b16a1 in 93 cx hatch
i had a 89 civic si with the b16a1. totaled it and want to drop the motor into my 93 hatch now. i have all the mounts i need and the obd1 distributor and p28 ecu chipped to run the dohc vtec. my question is how can i run the cable tranny in that car. i know ha sport makes some kind of kit for it. does anyone know if that kit will convert my tranny to work with the hydralic pedal asembly? if not how hard wold it be to convert without ditching my tranny. its the y1 with lsd and a new act puck clutch. i dont want to get rid of that.?????
I've done it before and it does work.... You have to mount it absolutely perfectly or it will ruin the slave cylinder.... If not mounted totally perfect the arm swinging away tends to wear the walls on the slave cylinder.... Personally I would never use one again... The swap was for a friend and it was the exact same one you are doing... First Gen B16 into an EG.... It really ended up being a waste of time because the guy that he bought it from sent a shitty motor... It ended up being around $5000 for a stock B16 swap.... If you have the money I would just try to get a 99-2000 Si tranny... This is what I've done from then on because that Hasport kit is 100% perfect... Good Luck
Are you saying convert the EH chassis from a hydro to cable clutch???.... If it would work i still don't think i would do it... I personally hate cable trannies, clutches, etc... They just don't feel the same as a hydro.... Latez
I have seen it done before on a 4-door EG with a Hydro ls motor. He took of the clutch master cly and put in a 90-93 teg clutch cable. I don't know how difficult it would be but if your wanting to do cheap then that would do it. Myself I would find a hydro tranny. B16, GSR, anything
