B16 in a 88 crx, We just got the new int. shaft so we could put on the drivers side axle so we started it up and it started...barely. It sputters pretty bad and misses alot. Rev it up to like 3 grand an it kinda clears out but still has a miss. After a few seconds the CEL comes on, code 9. We replaced the cly sensor, checked the plug wires and firing order but still does the same thing!!! We went ahead and drove it around the block and it drives but it's underpowered.

Need help! we gotta figure this out, were sooooo close!

 

Did you check the timing?

 

as far as the distributor timing, it's ok. It's in the same position as my gsr.

 

Did you ever find the answer to your problem? I am having the same problems.

 

reversed cyl sensor wires caused it to retard timing as much as it could.
