yeah people over seas have been doing this. I have seen a DOHC JDM engine in a mini in cali...damn fast. It was pushign 140 detuned. My cousin is actually doing this on his own mini in california. 1969 mini i think. Im thinking of picking one up here and doing the swap. Goes for about 3-5k for the whole thing. Car is really nice for autocrossing because it takes turns like nothing.

Wow...I couldn't imagine how fast that thing is, let alone how well it stops and corners. Hmmm...

That right there would be a sight to see at an autocross track. How much does your average mini go for? I want to look into building something like that.

I wouldn't know. But unless you have the knowledge, hookup, and parts, it could well be a big *** headache.

Cars usually go for about 5-6k...the wiring and all isn't that bad becuase there are kits out for straight drop in's. Having a one piece fiberglass front end helps a lot. Its just like doing a swap in a civic/crx or any other honda. You need the inside wiring harness, engine wiring harness and you drop it in. Im sure there is no power steering and AC...but with that little car youd on't really need it. My cousin has integra seats in his. MOMO steering wheel and a system. Nice little bugger. I got pics of it also
