auto to man swap need help please
well to start off i got a 98 civic coupe dx with an auto trans i would have never purchased with a auto trans but got a great deal on it from a auto auction only paid 4500.00 for it . i bought a b18c1 just motor i got it from a junkyard who would only sell the motor not trans or ecu..etc etc.. i need to swap my auto trans for a man trans and axles that will be capadable with my motor i would like to do the trans swap first because the motor is being rebuilt and is going to take me awhile to get it all together, i was just wondering if someone has ever done this and everything i need and around about cost or if there is a website for the swap thank you
I think the biggest question you'll encounter is that the trannies for your current motor and the B18C1 are different and not interchangeable. Do you want to buy both manual trannies? You will need the pedal assembly, the hard lines, the shift rods (also not interchangeable), the clutch master cylinder, the clutch slave cylinder, the flywheel, the clutch disc and pressure plate along with the pilot bearing and the throw-out bearing. To get an idea of what hard lines you need you can get a print out from your local Honda dealer of them.
There is a little bit of wiring that will need to be done too. You can check with Jerome Soh at http://www.sohfast.com for some of the used parts relatively cheap. he'd probably cut you a break for buying in quantity one would think.

I am in the process of doing the same thing. I have 95 civic HB. The car came auto. I bought a B18c5 engine, tranny ect. As I started bolting the engine up, The tranny mount is too high. About an inch. I don't know if it would be the same for your car but its somthing to check out. My solution for the problem is to cut the mount off and weld a manual tranny mount on. I am not so sure about the wiring though.
