Anyone use Innovative Cable to Hydro conversion in an EF?

I have the Innovative mounts in my EF (B18C type R) and I am trying to install the Cable to Hydro adapter, but it seems like I will have to cut the stock crossmember to make it fit. Am I doing it wrong or is that the way it has to be done?

the front crossmember mount bracket will have to be cut out to gain clearance

use haport conversion!!!!!! no clearance issues
