another swap question: intermediate shaft
Hey everyone. I'm using a Y80 GSR tranny in my civic and can't seem to get the 90-93 intermediate shaft ( the one with the female side on the driver's axle) to fit. It goes in most of the way but then just stops about 1/2 inch from being all the way in. Is there some seal that's wrong or do I need a diff part? Thanks for your replies, it helps out a lot.
Well, to be honest, I bought the axles because my friend said they would be ok. Honda swaps are new to me so I thought he was right and everything would fit. I also heard that all B series axles were the same, so as long as the intermediate shaft matched the axle it'd work. FWIW the passenger axle fit perfectly.
That's what I would've got to begin with but since you already have the 90-93 style, just work with it. I think you need to change then transmission seal on the intermediate shaft side of the tranny to that of 90-93 Integra and it would work.

I guess the question is do I need a '94 up halfshaft and driver side axle?
