Another Which motor for me EK thread
I have been saving up money now for quite some time and I am trying to get a swap going, now I am in college so a K swap is out of the question. H22 would be nice but I dont know if thats too $$. I am really leaning towards a GSR w/ B16 head I would like to get some input on that set up. Also considering LS/vtec and B20/vtec. So please H-T help a brotha out on this decision <3
P.S. I want the application to be N/A no FI at all or D-series. Thx

if your going for a full h22 swap, your going to spend about 3200-3600 for the swap alone. i did a h22 swap and axls are a problem for me. i've snap 2 sets of alxs already. I would recommend an ls\vtec. i've seen those motors can take a good beating.

I do not have an EK, but I do have a DA and I was in the same boat. I just bought a b18c from hmotorsonline.com and called it a day. Its alot funner to drive than the LS IMO, but now im craving for more power.
b18c + CTR cams + boost + crome = FTW!

Re: (HolyHondaEmII)
h2b for the same price as a C5 swap but alot faster then that swap..
its a K Killer.. hell get a F20b and you have a motor that is a K killer with a similar feel to a K20
I know my minds set on a F2b swap.. that motors sick! and has some serious potential for 230+whp
11:1 compression stock, some of the best rods stock in a honda, basis for the s2k mota, 8200 rpms stock + 2.0 liter = goood, a head that has a stock port n polish, h22 type s cams and great iron sleeves!
I dont understand why people overlook this engine so much.. this is the most unappreciated motor honda has made..

we're not here to spoon feed you. There's like 2 other threads in here on the 1st page that have to deal with F20Bs. Hell, THere's even stickied threads in here that give you step by step instructions to provide you with EVERYTHING that you need to get started.
If you can't read those, why should we help you?
I'm so close to locking this thread.

we should help him because this is what honda-tech is for.
IMO a GSR block and B16 is the way to go. cheap way of creating a B18C ITR. I had the verysame in my 93 hatch and it wasout of control. built bottom end on 12:1 compression, forged pistons, ported, polished head, full JUN valve train and cams and every other peripheral. dominated every other NA honda around me and held it own with my buddies EVO's. free revving and agile, awesome autox car.
H series areactually on my **** list but thats just me. ive seen plenty of H seriesthatmake good power and run strong.
K series is prolly the best for your moneybut it takes A LOT of money. granted, they are still the dominate honda engine asof right now. im currently on the K series bandwagon and lookin into a k20 FI.
if your looking for a daily driven machine then id say pick the motor that has the highest base horsepower and keep the modifications to simple things and stay NA. if you want something that sounds really pissedoff once the throttle is tapped, go FI with any B or K series
