Another B18C1/EG question
So I was out driving the car last night and it is apparent that the speedo is screwed up. It bounces a lot and jumps up and down much quicker than it should.
The cluster is the stock Si and the VSS is the stock GSR. Are these 2 compatible with each other? Are all of Honda's VSSs the same or do I need to run a different one in this car - or is my problem just a bad part?

They are different, but the difference is the way they read. Different cars have different size tires, so your speed will be off, but not bounce around like crazy.
Recheck the wiring and connection. The VSS maybe bad too.

yes recheck the wiring. My prelude did that once too...it was because the VSS wire got chewed up a little and water got on it....
the speedo was bouncing up to 120mph when i was sitting at the stageing lanes

After I had finished my GSR swap into my 1992 Civic DX, I remember the sensor on the front side of the tranny (Two wire: Green and BLack) came undone from the sensor when I got my engine. I put them in thinking it was okay, after everything was swapped in, driving around a few days my rpms jumped and the speedo started to jump...After three days the car just shut off and wouldnt start....I crossed the wires the other way around and voila...No more problems ever since...
