Default 4000 for an engine swap?

Well, called a guy and said "how would it be to swap an h22a into a 98" he says you'll lose your AC, yadda yadda, it'd be good car but just a pain in the ****.

So, he then tells me my best bet would be a 2.0 liter engine but its going to cost 4000 dollars? The guy knows his stuff *I hope* because he has a Civic that runs low 11's.

Your best bet is to find a rear-ended prelude in a junk yard and do it yourself with the help of a bunch of friends........you'll appreciate it more in the long run, plus save 1500-2000 bucks. Check out www.hasport.com for the mounts.

why exactly an h22a swap in an eg or ek hatch would be a pain is beyond my beliefe. with three different companies making mount kits for the swap, it's become much, much easier the this past year. sure, it's a little extra work but the rewards are very nice.

if you're interested, i'm selling my 99 h22a swap package. it comes with a 95 tranny for shorter gears, a practically brand new clutch masters stage 3, 8lb. clutch masters flywheel and the oh so important 96 prelude vtec ecu with 96 prelude vtec injectors that were all bought new from honda. this swap would drop right into your car. i can also include a shift linkage and shifter along with the swap package.

$2500
let me know by email if you're interested. motor is from cunningham brothers salvage in virginia with 19.5k on it. bought it over a year ago with 8k on it.

I don't think it's a rip-off if that price includes the swap package and the labor costs. If you do not want to bother doing the swap, I say go for it. It also depends on the condition of the motor and how many miles is on it.

He owns an 11 sec Civic..so..I do hope he knows what hes doing.
