Hey guys,
I just put a 94 jdm b16a in my eg. My distributor that came with the engine is whining. I know that I have to replace it as soon as possible.
Anyway, What are the different distributors I could use. Could I use the Canadian 96-2000 SIR distributor?

How many plugs are on the NOISY distributor and how many on the replacment unit?? If the plugs match up you're GOLD, but if not, you still MAY be able to use the distributor from the other car, but check the mechanical fit to make sure all 3 ears line up. If so, and the wiring plugs are different, you can re-pin the connecotrs to make your harness match up or cut and splice your harness and hardwire the distributor in.

It's MUCH easier if the plugs are the same, but the re-wiring can be done..

use the 94-95 delsol dohc vtec or 92-95 gsr. those are OBD1 and match up. if you can you can find a place to rebuild those and change out the bearing. it is good to do it soon as I have seen some freeze up so bad it makes the timing belt jump and that is a bad thing to happen. if not go to distributor king. I feel there prices are not bad for new distributors.

I ordered an new dizzy today from them. It was $185 for an obd 1 gsr dizzy. Tell them you're a honda-tech member and you get a 10% discount. They say that oem caps/rotors will not fit. I called to confirm. They said EG caps/rotors will work with the obd 1 gsr dizzy. I bought one.

to eda6 hb. did they sell you a 92-93 gsr dist or a 94-95. nothing major but only the 92-93 gsr/94-95 delsol dist can use the eg dist cap and not the 94-95. that is a special cap that only the gsr and R use.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

"This distributor is compatible with the following OEM housing #'s: TD-44U & TD-68U."

I got a td44 on the way. If the eg cap doesn't work, it's going back. TD-44 is 92/93 or 94/95?
I just called them and they're closed.

I don't remember the part #'s. reagardless if they send you a 92-93 gsr one that works with 92-95 civic caps and if they send you a 94 95 that is fine just go to the dealer and get a 94-95 gsr dist cap.
