Default worth it? (HELP)

Hi all, I am a noob here, I am currently considering to purchase a S2k. The one I was interested is 2005 white with red and black interiors.ONLY 20000km. But the only question is it contains over 10000 Damage report. After i talked with the first owner, he said that the damage is impact on the rear trunk, he spend on all $10k on reparing the rear trunk and body stuff. There was nothing destoried on engin and mechanical things.
If all he said were truth, then do you guys think

1. is this a good deal for me to purchase this car?

2. will the handling of the car being effected by this amt of damage?

expecting for any suggestion.

That's a lot of money to fix a trunk lid. Sounds a little fishy to me, but I guess it could be true. Personally, I would look elsewhere.

sounds like it was a really bad accident to the rear and he may have replaced the subframe. wouldn't know if it's "worth it" since you never gave us a price. i probably wouldn't but it.

canada has 2005 white w/ red interior s2k's? lucky.... (- n.d.)

first off in america we use us dollars$...so when u say hes asking 36k, is that in us or canadian currency? because thats more then a brand new s2k in the states...anything with that much repair should be lowered greatly in price, no one is gonna pay him value for that car, unless he finds an idiot who believes him when he says its only the trunk, with that much money invested in a repair...

,i had an accident in my truck and had to straighten the frame buy a new front fender, bumper, associated parts and paint...it was nowhere near that much.

theres cars to be had out there, be patient and you will be happy u didnt rush into a bad deal.

well, as you said $ is for US dollar. So the price indicator $ I am using is for CAN dollars. anyway, the price in CANADA is much higher in US. But as you said if I pay him CAN$36000 for a repair car which contains more than 10k damage , then I must be an idiot? is that what you mean?

im not calling you an idiot...imsaying if anybody looking to buy a car was told there is 10k worth of repair work but theres nothing wrong now, and then that person took the sellers word he would be an idiot...just like around me some kids just get there license and buy a real overpriced honda because it has a big dumb wing...

if you do go ahead with this car take it to an auto body place and ask the guy to take a look and see how extensive the amount of repairs the car seems to have...a trained eye can see the repaired spots, or where a frame was straightened, and if it was limited to the rear of the car.

the guy could be hiding something and just trying to unload it to the first person who takes his word...because there are people out there who will, just dont be that guy...if the price is right to you take a good look at the car, its worth knowing what youre getting into...

ps...whats the conversion can 36k to us $?

Dude it's a 2 year old car. WHy spend that much $$ on something that has had that much bodywork done? It will never be like NEW.

Try and find another one!!

And you said the car is from the US? 05 GPW's do not have red interior.

AP2's are nice, however, I would NOT buy one for 36K if it's had that much repair done to it (10K).

Since you can find good AP1's, even an 03 for around mid twenties, especially in BC, 36K would is a bit steep for damaged 05.

Honestly, you could probably find one that's near mint for 36K.

mustve replaced a main support somewhere in teh rear, and im sure did some work with both 1/4 panels which isnt cheap by any means, if it had 10k of cosmetic damage, but wasnt "structurally totalled" then it deemed safe still
