i think most of us need more info on what you are looking for. your question is too broad so people will start throwing out all sorts of info that you may not want to hear.

try giving us a price range? how much you want to lower? plans for aftermarket rims? [some rub with too low of a drop] etc...

some of the main coilovers i see people running are:
-buddy club
-tein
-jic

those cost anywhere from $1300-$1600

springs:
-kgmm
-eibach

most springs are about $200-$300, if you go with springs people recommend that you upgrade the shocks with something like konis for about $500+ a set

another choice are adjustable springs:
-ground controls
-comptech

cost more than springs, but give you height adjustability...

but once you answer those main questions, you selection on springs/coilovers should be a lot easier

I have Ground Controls and Koni Yellows on mine and have no complaints. Plus with Ground Control you can order any spring rate you want.

as far as wheel clearance goes for it.......I ordered a set of Work Emotion CR's, 17x7 and 17x8 (sorry Ardy, I saw them on jhp on special and went for the free lugnuts ), I really want a good ride out of the setup and I think that I want to go with springs. I am not into it for roadracing because this car to me is just fun to cruise around in. I have heard some good things about the Eibach prokit....does anyone else have input on the Eibach stuff....... I have also heard about the Ground Control coilovers and I have heard a lot of god stuff......thanks for the advice guys.......I am gonna try to order tomorrow so I need some more input

If you aren't going to track it, then who gives a rip how it rides... Just buy some KGMM springs and call it a day.

If I didnt care how it rides....then I would just cut my factory springs and let it fly...... I just dont have $3000 to spend on Toda or Tein.........happy medium under a grand would be sufficient

KG/MM springs and Koni Yellows. Should be decent for a street setup and priced right around $800-900.

I hear lowered stooks are oversteer dangerously. Is that true? And will I need a camber kit if I lower mine?

kgmm is a popular spring manufacturer that a lot os s2000 owners use. they have two different springs: race [1.3" drop] and sport [.6"?? drop]. they're popular because they use some "dual action" spring coil with their springs that are suppose to perform better

getting a set of shocks is a good idea because eventually the higher spring rates on the springs will make the stock shocks blow faster. you can use aftermarket springs with stock shocks for awhile, but switching for aftermarket shocks with the springs will make for only one install.

tegunderpressure:
the s2000 already has a camber adjustment which can be adjusteed by any alignment shop after you lower your car.

it all has to do with the spring rates. if the rear spring rates are really, really high, then you have a good chance of oversteer.

I have H&R Springs on my S, they lower it .75" in the front and .60" in the rear. The have a comfortable ride and are decent at the track. I'm upgrading to coilover soon because I plan to track the car more often, but these springs work great for daily driving. KG/MM is another popular spring for the S2000 and the race springs seem to be more popular, but the Sport is better if you want a subtle drop and more comfort.

i think the s2k comes with a really balanced setup...maybe u should rethink of going aftermarket. u might put your car out of sync. like u said f1 inspired and think of it "blanced"

KYB don't make s2000 struts to the best of my knowledge.

If you don't lower more than an inch there shouldn't be a problem. Beyond an inch and you get bump-steer, possible oversteer and difficulty reaching a good alignment setting. I've got the Ground Control kit with Koni yellows. So far I've been able to setup for street, AutoX or track days. The adjustable ride height has helped me with wider wheels (O.Z. offsets) and up to 255/40/17 tires on occasion.

Maintaining the stock "stagger" from front to back is a good idea to keep oversteer at bay. The 7" wheels will mount 215 / 45's up front. If you decide to go larger be prepared to also purchase a larger front swaybar or you may be surprised how much oversteer is generated by 225's (not the best street setup anyway). Depending on your offsets you should try to go with at least 245 / 40 for the rear. Wheels with close to stock offsets will often accomodate a 255 but lowering could cause rubbing over bumps or full suspension compression. The '04 now comes equipped with 8.5" rear wheels and many aftermarket 17" wheels also afford another 1/2" in width for better cross section fit. I have two sets of 17's. One set is 7" front / 8" rear while the other has 8.5" rears. The sidewalls are much more vertical on the larger set while the smaller set "pinches" most tires I've tried. Be mindful of non-stock offsets. My O.Z. 17's have really poor rear offset, while the Prodrives allow me to mount 255's without rubbing.
