Default Value of this car

I'm looking to buy an s2k and have been looking everywhere USA, other provinces etc. (I'm from montreal Canada) I found one locally that is exactly what I have been looking for, it's a 2000 (10 years+ no taxes to pay) good, white with red interior color scheme I want, 155000km or about 97000mi, the owner seems very meticulous about maintenance and caring for the car which it a plus for sure, comes with a lot of goodies such as
-2003+ soft top installed
-test pipe
-dc hearder
-fujita CIA
-HID

The problem with the car is it is a salvaged title, but the owner has all documents pictures of the accident and and repair details, and it was a very minor accident only cosmetic damage and it all repaired. Given this what would you say the aprox. value of the car is also considering I am in Canada and the prices here are higher then the US for S2000's, I just wan't to get a bit of input on the value before discussing with the seller. Thank you.

i have a hard time believing that it was a minor accident that caused it to be a salvage title...you sure it didnt sit under water at some point?

i don't know why you would say that maybe its different in the USA but here any accident big or small, or any theft, even a failed attempt at stealing a car classifies it as VGA, which is what you would know as salvaged title

Well maybe that is so, and the car was in an accident and needed a bumper hood fender, door and side skirt, thats what was damaged but none of those parts were severely impacted just had dents and scratches, but regardless this isn't the point of the thread I'm just looking for some input on peoples opinions of the value

well my advice is for you to ask people that know more about the laws in your country because the advice you'll get from here is going to be more based on what happens to cars with a salvaged title in america and a car that has a salvaged title in the US loses A LOT of value, so theres really no accurate way to tell you what its worth...if i was looking at buying it, given the mileage and issue with the title, i wouldnt pay anymore than 6 grand for it

yes and no, my miata received it's salvage title from a sliced top, jacked HU and a few missing interior pieces(from previous owner).

Sometime it's easier to get a check from the insurance then selling a used car, you can get a salvage title on an ap1 with a slashed top and 2 missing front seats, it varies from states to states and insurance company.

sorry, can't give you an accurate price range to work with

Those mods & soft top don't add anything to the value, in fact they take away from it.
Assuming the car was accident free/clean title it would sell for ~8,000 - 10,000 USD here depending on condition. The salvage title knocks off a few thousand Im sure.

I say keep looking. I've wanted an s2k for about a year and got serious about my search in the new year. I scoured craigslist for months and picked one up for 6k, clean title, mugen hardtop, cai, catback exhaust, ACT 6 puck clutch and clean title! It was missing the seats and soft top. Not trying to brag by any means but I'm just saying be more patient and you will find one. I wouldn't buy a salvaged title s2k regardless of how common it is in QC. What is the price of this local salvaged title car anyway? Find one clean at a reasonable price stateside and your s2k will be worth that much more in your local market.

OP look in the long island area. I remember an s2k that I was going to fly up there and buy for 7.5k with a clean title.

I was just saying that your double clean title s2k isn't the new standard of on-the-cheap anymore

ok, I gotcha. Damn, that's not a good sign that it's common place to find super cheap s2ks, but at least it's hope for the OP. It's weird though because At the same time there are still people asking kbb for their s2ks. How much did you pick yours up for? Mine was from the original owners son and has 36,xxx miles.s

considerably more mods than yours, original owner, etc. for a bit more. 180k miles but mods alone used-value is more than I bought it for lol.

lmao! sweet. I can't believe people are so dumb. I mean I recently sold my 98 hatchback with a GS-R for 6500 and to think you can buy a s2k with a clean title for the same amount. Obviously both sellers were hard up for money but geez!
