When I bought my ITR back in 98, I had a GSR. A very nticeable difference was the engiene noise. With the ITR it was as if there was no barrier between you and the engiene. The sound directly travels from the engiene to you in a straight line.

In the S2K with the top down, the sound comes from the left front, due to firewall sound insulation (or at least that's how it feels like). As if there is an ITR in the left lane about a half a car ahead of you. Very confusing

I test drove an S2000 today for the second time... As fast and as awesome as the car is, its not loud enough at 9k rpm! I had the top down doing close to 100 near redline and I couldnt hear the engine over the wind.. Thats not right!

 

You can't hear the engine as well when the top is down.

 

I need to take that car for a test drive. The guy a tthe dealership offered, but I didn't have the time.

 

Hah yeah the salesmen know if they can get ppl like us behind the wheel of an S2k we wil instantly fall in love, as I did when I got it a little sideways turning onto an onramp. The guy almost **** himself. lol
