from what ive heard from a few people tein is the APC of japan. dont hold me to this. but tein still makes good products. i think it really depends on what your looking for. for something a little more track oriented i hear that the Amuse/Bilstein combination works WONDERS. but of course its just hearsay.

hehe. the quality of japanese parts is far superior than US made products.
but i hear that the shock bodies on the teins tend to rust. i hear that the JIC coilovers are very nice and dont rust.

I heard different from the JIC's. Alot of problems has risen with their coilovers on the s2ki board.

i think it might be the luck of the draw hehe.. i'm just asking about the tien flex cause there's a group buy for them and it's a rather good price....i've tended to hear good and bad things about almost every system...and i have heard about the rust in the tiens but i thought tien worked on that and the new ones don't rust anymore? or i might of heard wrong...

i think there's a thing on s2k group buys for the amuse/blistein. i don't think the tien ra's work with the edfc... thats why i was asking about the tien flexes, cause the edfc is a very handy thing to have..

by the way i drive my car daily, and the roads here aren't the greatest in the world, therefor i need something thats adjustible easily from street/track LIKE performance...so the capability of the edfc is a great asset.

go to http://www.s2ki.com and login, then go to forums, then marketplace, then group buys....and the group buy is for the bilstein pss9 coilovers...and the group buy is for $1600 + shipping... but they need like 5 people to do it and they only got 3 as of now...go check it out..

tein not tien used my car for the prototype of the flex kit. i rode around for a little bit(about 5 days) and was pleased with it. I ended up selling it(wanted to keep my car stock for the time being) so i can't really say how it was in the long run. but it did make my car feel a lot better on the road.

I hear a lot of things too, let's keep the hearing seperate from the experiencing and not spread around jibberish. There's no point in posting about a product unless you had the product, used it and can give good feedback.

all hihg performance race coilover systems have a shorter life span than any oE or sport setup. when choosing a coilover it is important to keep in mind what you are looking to for.
if it will be a race car most aftermarket setups are very good as long as the spring rates are agressive
if it will be a street car / weekend warrior type deal go with something a little more reliable like a sport setup pre-vavled.
yes the Tein Flex falls short on the track compared to some of thier higher end setups, but for street use you'll never know the differnace plus you can use that little EDFC for braggin' rights.
but the benifit of TEIN is that since all aftermarket setups have a shorter life span it will be easier to send to TEIN and have re-built or re-vavled (since they can do it in Cali) unlike some other setups that need to go back to Japan (good luck)

personally I have been considering either the Bilstein PSS or the GP Sports GR-6.
Thanks to Ben at Bulletproof I have confirmed that I can send them back to either manufature for repair or revalve issues if needed.

unless Tein has changed the way they do things recently, the servicing of their RS and RA shocks have to be done in Japan which isn't cheap and takes some time.

what works on one model and chassis may not work well on a completely different platform. A platform so different that it wouldn't make sense to compare the two.
