thinking about getting a s2000
im thinking about trading my civic si in for a s2000. do you guys think a white 06 with 3,200 miles or so on for 28,000 is a good deal? it has a few minor things wrong with it like a scratched up front right wheel and a incorrectly instaled wing with a 1/4 inch gap in between the trunk and spoiler on the left side. the car also has very bald rear tires. other than that its great. It has been sitting at the dealer for about 2 months now and i dont think many ppl buy s2000's right before winter lol, should i try to talk them down a few grand or is it already a good enough deal?
do you think the s2000 will be drastically more money to insure? im 19 with a few points i pay like 400 a month for the si and could find alot cheaper if i wanted too.
also im 6'2 about 235 lbs and i fit ok but it could be better. i know there are many seats and rails available that lower the seat as much as 3 inches, but do thay also sit the seat further back for more leg room?

check your insurance first, it could be way more than your SI, i know people with bad record is getting bent over for insurance, but again, it is a sports car and younger/newer driver do tends to wrap them around pole during the first year of purchase.
3200 with bald tires might be a good indicator of the car wasn't probably broken in.
it's a small car, but you'll get used to it.

Doesn't sounds like the car was proporly cared for at all. Used, abused, and put away wet probably.
$400 a month for insurance? That's either a gross exageration or extorsion. How could you possibly afford anything else at 19? Unless mommy and daddy pay for everything.

well i just found out the car actually has 4200 miles on it but thats still kinda soon for bald tires. haha yea i guess i the car has had the **** beat outa it, but im not that soft on cars myself so i can understand. It is honda certified so it has the 100,000 mile warrenty.
do u think if they replaced the tires and ordered me a new trunk it would be worth it? The interior is perfect and the paint is perfect. I mean its 28k compared to 35k for a 07.
insurance cost alot in nj. lol and if mommy and daddy paid for everything i wouldnt be getting a s2000 probably.

damn 400 for insurance i pay like 120$ full coverage for my EK and i am only 17. I was thinking about getting a s2000 as well i saw one at the dealer today my god i fell in love.
i wouldnt buy a car with 4000 miles and bald rear tires. the dealership is also really stupid if they even attempted to sell a car like this. wait for the right one, it's worth the wait. i spent about 3 months strenously searching daily before i finally found one that i thought was worth buying.

your right i guess its not worth buying a car that was beat. gess ill try to look around some more but unfortuanally i havent seen no other ap2's around in white or black at a dealer. and buying a new one for 35grand dosent seem smart to me. ill probably just settle for a 350z.
i only wanted a white or black car as well... but i couldnt find any, i ended up with the most common color - silverstone. i don't regret my decision at all.
i almost settled for a 350z and i am sooooooooo glad i didn't. the s2k has a soul that the 350z could never touch. good luck with your purchase. try dealerships on ebay, shipping a car isnt that expensive.. only $500-$1000 depending how far away.. closed carrier could cost a little bit more.

yea 350z's are kinda cool but there pretty heavy. and not that reliable. but they do look nice and they have navigation as an option. my si has it and its probably the only thing i will miss about the car.
ive pretty much made my mind up that the s2000 is the car i want. i dont want to settle on the color though i did that with my last 2 cars. hopfully another one in white pops up at a derler soon. buying the civic was a big mistake and i want to trade it in while i still can get alot for it
buying a car from a different state probably isnt a option since i have a trade in it would be alot of hassle.

I jut bought an 02 on Moday for 18000 with a hard top and the factory lip kit. Inurance is a killer so make sure you can afford it before you go buy it. I pay 440 a month for full coverage. I'm only 20 so thats the reason, and hey mommy and daddy don't pay for everything.
