Default Test pipe question

ok, so i searched test pipe but couldn't find the answer i was looking for, so i have an 06 and don't want codes and cel's going off. the question is, would a header with stock cat to exhaust be worth it or is the test pipe really neccessary for the gains, or is there something else i could do to bypass the test pipe issue?

i see ur in FL too, you haven't had any problems with cops and emissions, b/c i know that it is a huge fine not to have a cat.

Test pipe is a very good bang for the buck mod for the s2000. You will really notice a difference.

i didn't think of that, so a hi-flow cat would be close to a test pipe but still "legal" and not throw any codes?

You can use the T1R test pipe with the flanges for the stock heatshield. Looks like a cat.

I wouldnt use a test pipe because of environmental reasons. I dont see how 4hp is worth taking clean air away from EVERYONE.

Just leave your stock cat in there. It's a high flow unit from the factory. You might make some more power with a test pipe...i just dont think it's worth the trade off.

I agree, plus test pipes stink, your car will start to smell weird and girls will stop having sex with you. THAT is the inconvenient truth, my friend....

Dont get one for everyday use. my friends car smelled like gasoline and fumes. it was disgusting. plus if you get cought the fine is huge. its not worth it.

unless you are going to the track then yes change it up for that day.

I was just more concerened about the pollution. But yeah sometimes uncatted cars make your clothes and everything stink. I guess it depends on how the car is running, though.

However, your stock cat is a highflow type cat.
