TEIN S-Tech's
Hey guys sorry but this has probably been asked before but i have recently purchased an S about two months ago and was wondering if anyone here has TEIN S-Tech lowering springs on their car. I want to give my car that 1 inch drop look but have heard it can mess with my stock springs and harm my handling? i was just wondering what the S community thinks about this. I also have heard these are decent if im not going to track it or autocross it. I dont know if i want to spend 1600 on FLEX coils for just the look but i can use any feedback. If i know the Stech's are good for my car i can totally use the money for t1r dual exhaust 70EM. THANKS GUYS! HAPPY NEW YEARS!

I bought my S with the S tech's on it already and I didn't know they were on at first. the drop is only about an inch and from the ride I didn't know it wasn't stock. it wasn't until I jacked up the car to change the oil that I noticed it seemed a little low to fit the jack and then I saw the springs. here's how my car sits with the S Tech's...

My friend has them on his S. They're very very comfortable as far as the plushness goes. The car feels like stock as far as bumps go. My car is on KWs...and driving his car is like driving my car with a flat tire. It's squishy and kind of jiggly/squirmy when you turn the wheel or make sharp corners. That seems to be the characteristic of tein springs for some reason. Too soft, too jiggly. To me, that's not comfortable overall. It may get kind of annoying.
There are other springs that may serve you better. The Espelier ASD drops the car around 1'' also. Those come highly recommended....but I've never ridden on them.
I'm getting the same exhaust, btw.
They wont wear on your shocks that much faster than oem springs to be honest. They're not aggressive enough. I can assure you this. The ride is also not even that noticeably harsher. Just imagine your oem springs, with the car lowered an inch at most all the way around.

I've got Koni yellow shocks that make the car sit about 3/8" lower.
Alignment will be a MUST if you do anything to the suspension at all...unless you like buying tires every 7000miles.

OP: Clocking bushings is tightening the bushings while the car is at ride height. You have to do it with any non floating bushing or they will eventually tear. Bushing prices for the S2000 aren't cheap.
You need to clock
Front: UCA to chassis, LCA to shock, LCA to chassis.
Rear: UCA to chassis, LCA to shock, LCA to chassis (both at the obvious spot and the not so obvious spot behind the seat), and the other arms that have bushings.
Let's say you're working on the Right rear.
1.) Leave the affected bolts loose or loosen them. Have the car up on 4 jackstands or a lift.
2.) Place a jack underneath the right rear LCA furthest away from the chassis, closest to the hub. You can lift on the balljoint stud if your jack has a rubber protector pad.
3.) Lift till the car comes up off the jackstand.
4.) Tighten all the bolts in the RR corner that are mentioned above.
5.) Lower the car back on the jackstand and do the other 3 corners.
Never heard of this clocking before. Only bushings I messed with were where the shocks mount.
Guess I'll have to double check them, but the car's been lowered for 1.5yrs and I have inspected the underside of the car periodically and have never noticed any problems.

You have to clock them to the current height regardless of if you loosened them up during the install or not.
