the flex is definately your budget.

But you have to ask yourself why you're getting it also. Plan on Auto-X'ing, or just a daily driver? How low do you want to go?

I ended up going with Buddy Club Racing Specs because I wanted a stiffer suspension that dropped a little bit lower.

I will try to Auto X next year. But i just want good all round suspension. And i have heard good things about tein coils. I barely drive my car anyways, so it will mostly be for weekend driving.
As far as height, I believe I could slam the car if I wanted too? Am I right? I really dont want to go too low, otherwise I will mess up my front lip. Alot of steep entrances to places here in SC. I just want to go low enough to where my wheels are tucked under the fenders and I can fit about a finger in between.

not to get off topic, but I have been looking at coilovers as well. My S is my daily driver all year except the winter when its stored in the garage. I have tracked my car. The plan is to track the car twice a month next yr, HPDE's, open track days, etc... I might track it more but that depends on my $ flow. Any suggestions? Daily driver S with weekends at the track? I'm not rich so something reasonable

if you're gonna track it a lot.... you can go with a kg/mm springs with koni yellows setup.. and if you want coilovers, go with buddy clubs, a lot of people have been using those on the track and are liking them.... i'm asuming the tein rs would work well also.... i haven't tracked my car with the tein flex, i would like to however

you have new tein flex or used RA, new buddy club, new JIC FLTA2 (?), used JRZ, new GP sports, new H&R.

what really sets the tein flex apart from all other coilovers is that it has the Electronic Dampening Force Controller (EDFC). Get that and you have a dayam good reason to have a set of FLEX. IF you don't plan on getting the EDFC, all other ones are just as good if not better.

I'm pretty sure the spring rates are different.

At least, that's how it is betwee the Type Flex's and the Type SS for my car. The Flex's are a little bit stiffer.

i too am planning to switch over the tein flex. i currently have koni yellows w/ kgmm racing springs. koni yellows are lifetime warranty shocks. im switching because i want adjustability. there was a guy on s2ki that was selling his RA for 900 used w/ 11k miles. i think he just sold it or its being picked up on tuesday.

where did most of you order your flex from? also, how much was the install for the edfc?

I have the same set up with Super Sports and Koni Yellows. I think I am going to keep my Konis and just get a set of Ground Controls. I just cant imagine that the Tien shock is any better than my Koni shocks. The GC's should give me the adjustability that I want plus changing spring rates is not only easy but fairly inexpensive.

I think they have been on the car for almost 2 years and about 17000 miles. They feel as good as new.

one more question..... If you set the coilovers to a specific setting and have the car aligned, and u decide to lower it some more for like a car show, but u raise it back up to the same settings as it was aligned to... Would u have to get it realigned ? Would it mess up the camber/toe?
