Okay so my car will start fine but then at any given moment it won't restart. I'll push start it, and when I make it home it will restart fine. I think the starter is on the way out, but I have no idea where it is.
Anybody have a diagram on where it is? And possibly a DIY write up. I searched but it didn't net any satisfying results.
I appreciate it a lot guys.
the car is MY02, and I jsut replaced the alternator and the battery. they are both brand new.

I don't have a picture but it's pretty easy to find. lol The starter is on the driver's side of the engine block, close to the firewall where the engine mates to the trans.
There are only 2 bolts holding the starter. But one of the bolts is a PITA to get to. You may need to pull the alternator and use a very long extension to reach it. Also, be very careful when using an extension... It will run just past the knock sensor, which is VERY fragile and pretty expensive to replace.

its where the tranny meets the engine block, driver's side under the intake manifold.
this shot gives you an idea where the starter is on the block, getting to it will suck. you'll most likely have to get the alternator out of the way and maybe the intake manifold just to reach it and replace it.

Yeah It definitely sucked getting to it. What sucked even more is that the new new one won't work as soon as we got it in. It worked fine when we tested it but as soon as it was in the car..... the arm wouldn't pop out to start the car. The starter went bad, and now I gotta do the whole thing over again lol.
