Something is wrong with the car!?!?!?
Today at 5:33 pm, I raced an Acura Integra. He and myself where first on a light and he started reving the engine hard, and I decided to run. We run but at the time that I finished kicking his AS* my car started throwing some kind of smoke from both mufflers. It keep throwing the smoke for about 20 sec everytime I hit the gas.
What could be wrong with the engine. BTW my engine just have 400 miles on it. BUT dont think it's because of that.
Help me out on this one!!!

ever heard of breaking in your motor? its in the honda manual something about not vtec-ing until 600 or so miles I believe.....someone correct me if I'm wrong...
lol...and i would like to refer back to that thread where people were discussing the breaking in of engines, and how it doesnt matter a bit, and the fact that chances are you read in that thread that it didnt matter, and that the car needed to be run up to redline a few times to "seat the rings" (which if you must know is a term used for motorcycle break in and doesnt apply really to cars because they simply dont have the same kind of internal engine enviorment as a bike)...and yes, THIS is why they say break the car in by not VTEC'ing until 600 miles (the dealership suggested break in period) and even higher from Honda themselves.
Some will complain that this MAY have happened even with a proper break in...but it didnt, it happened without it, and i think it should be noted that this is a good "i told you so" event.
Take it to Honda, tell them that you have just taken it on a long road trip and on your way back, you noticed when you stopped for food, you cranked the car and it was smoking a bit...and it has progressively gotten worse...they'll probobly just replace your motor if its bad enough, but thats what you'll need to do to get this warrantied and fixed...instead of simply telling them that you didnt have patience and decided to screw the break in period and run the motor up to redline without question.

You're fucked.
If it is white smoke, it is probably burning antifreeze. If it is blueish smoke, it is burning oil. If you over revved it, they will know. The repair is on you. If you didn't over rev it, it should be covered under warranty.

don't lie to the dealer. we have diagnostic equipment that reads the ecu's log of what RPMs the car has been to, when it happened, etc.
don't rip someone else off just because you rag on your ****. if you are honest and cool with the dealer guys, they can better diagnose your problem
if someone came to me and said, "i just started it up and it was smoking, and since it has progressively gotten worse", then i would change the valvestem seals and maybe the rings with a nice new hone job. but if you told me you were racing it, i may look into a cracked head, etc.
be 100% honest with the person who will be fixing the car, so he can fix it right

is that true?
i worked in a dealership for a good while and many a blown up engine got replaced under warranty and there was no diagnosis like what you mentioned performed, even though there was a lot of speculation that the customer blew it up.
there were even some cases that were so obvious that the sutomer had srewed the motor up that the mechanics and service manager completley overlooked, but i could see, and keep i mind, that i am not a mechanic by profession.
i am not saying that it doesnt exist and that you are wrong, i was askin you litterally. sorry if i sounded like a smartass

another side to the story, is that the dealers may know that the damage is customer error but they process it as a warranty claim anyway because when they do so honda picks up the bill not the dealer.
when i worked at the dealer an observation that i made is that some wrranty jobs pay less than the service manager thought was acceptable and they did all they could to avoid the work.
however when hours were low they would mysteriously push through a lot more warranty jobs, go figure

yes. now, let me say that i don't work for a dealer, i'm a mechanic at an import perfoamance shop. but we have a snap-on diagnostic machine for OBD-II cars that can look at max engine speed (RPM), manifold pressure (boost), vehicle speed, coolant temp, intake air temp, etc....
it makes it easy to tell what blew the engine up
and don't rip off honda

If Honda is willing to fix the car under warranty, and you feel ok about playing the "I dunno" card, then by all means, do it...lol. It might not directly effect the service center as someone said...but it sure does effect the cost of repair for people who in the future might actually have a legitimate problem with their car that wasnt customer error and might not have a warranty of any kind.
Honestly...you fucked it up being too anxious to romp on the throttle, and now you've probobly screwed your motor up. Surely you'll be the one to have it fixed with the "i dont know what happened to it" story...but keep in mind, and have some ******* common sense in the future...break in period means BREAK IN PERIOD.

Blah-
I have this same scanner in my personal toolbox at work.
Unplug your battery terminals and let them sit for awhile.. Try to log that now with your fancy scanners.
He will get a motor end of story.

Just to reiterate yes, Honda says to "avoid full throttle starts" , and to "avoid harsh or agressive breaking" for the first 600 to 1,000 miles depending on driving conditions. The problem very well could be your fault, and if the dealer can prove it, can legally charge you for a new engine. However...most dealers wouldn't...because if you bought the car from them they value your business and want you to be happy and continue to return to them in the future. That being said, the dealer does make less money on repairs when Honda pays in warranty work..substantially less. So there's a fine line. Bottom line, it's a 30 thousand dollar car, take care of it....or maybe next time your mommy will buy you a 1995 Civic instead....=P

not to be an *** or anything but you should learn how to spell before flaming the **** out of other people.
break-in periods are there for a reason though.

I'm a tech at an Acura dealer and when people come in with their over-revved, mis-shifted RSX's and give us the "I dunno" routine, I pretty much have zero sympathy for them at that point. To the 1 in 100 who actually man up and admit what happened I generally will try to help them out and do the repairs under warranty.
