Default S2000 ?'s

My roomate's S2000 was bumped in a parking lot a few weeks ago and caused some minor scratches on the front bumper. Well, to make a long story short, he took it back to the dealer to get fixed but they ended up doing a bad job. He has taken it back 5 time and it gets worse everytime. This last time they totally fugged up the color and it looks like chit, doesnt match at all! The guy tells him that the S2000 silver is hard to match and that he will not find anyone that can do a better job. Is this true? Is the paint hard to match? I told him that they are full of **** and that they are making up excuses......but he took it to another Honda stealership and they told him the same thing. I mean it cant be that hard right? any well reputable bodyshop should be able to match the paint perfectly right? Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Oh yeah, its a 2002 so whatever silver came in that year...TIA

My dad has an S2000. It's silverstone by the way(2001). Somebody backed into him one afternoon and did about $1200 in damage. It took the bodyshop two times to match the color and it had orange peel when he got it back. I think what you're being told is a crock of sh** and you need to take it somwhere else.

Oh yeah, since when did dealers do paint jobs and body work for S2000's?

I've heard that damn near the entire color range for S2000s is difficult to match. Most modern paint jobs aren't easy to match nowadays, regardless of the car manufacturer. I've heard it taking more than twice for some people to get a good color match. Don't accept poor work from them, they'll do it over and over if they have to.

AURSX-S:
In response to your body shop question, some dealerships to have body shops that they operate on their own. There is one here in Auburn, WA that is maintained by a Honda dealership, and therefore, that's what they specialize in. I had some work done by them, and they were very expensive (thank God for insurance), but the quality for very good!

I didn't know that. I wish we had something like that.
