Default S2000 Performance IN DA SNOW!

ok...heres the deal...

i currently own an 01 PY ITR...great car for both summer and winter, tears thru snow with snow tires no problem

BUT...i am considering an S2000 for diff reasons, which i wont get into right now

my question is...

I live in New Hampshire...when i say Snow, i mean SNOWWW

in winter, ground is very icey and i have seen as much as 4 feet of snow on the ground at a given time...sometimes there is about half a foot of snow still unplowed on roads here...

with 4 GREAT snow tires on stock rims and stock s2000, will i be able to ride somewhat easily thru the snow?

anyone daily drive in the snow?

i did a search, but like i said, i get A LOT of snow

and i CANT have a winter beater...no room, can only have 1 car all year round

also, how gross does the car feel inside being that it is a convertible and it will rain and snow on my roof...

lets be honest, no biased opinions because you love your car. if it sucks..say it, if not, lets hear some comments, thanks

BTW, i am losing my garage in a few months so i cant store my R in the garage, and there is no way i will risk seeing another R say goodbye to the world simply because i cant store it properly...

and the truth of the matter is...no one steals a stock S2000 for the hell of it, and if they do, who cares, i can walk to a dealer and get a new one...unlike the R

I drove my S2000 all winter on Blizzaks and it handled awesome. I was seriously surprised how well it got me around, in some cases, better than my dads 4x4 explorer.

I drive an s2000, but drove a civic last winter, which has since died. I have been told by some other S2000 drivers that with some good snow tires they do fine, but without, watch out! I will be looking into some good snow tires for this winter!

Being in detroit I had the same concerns when I went from the ITR to the s2k. No worries mate, get some great winter tires (blizzaks) and you'll be fine. I drive mine year round, and this last winter it spent a lot of time outside in the driveway. It handled the winter pretty good, I dont know how well it would do honestly if there was 7 inches of snow on the road....but it did make it in and out of my unplowed driveway more than a few times. You have to kinda crank the heat unless you have a hardtop, gets cold near the soft top that would be my biggest complaint.

The car drives surprisingly well. Just remember its RWD and a bit more powerful than the ITR, and you'll be just fine.

Winter tires are a MUST. The car is useless in the winter months without them.

To be honest...

the convertable top feels the same in all weather conditions. The only difference is if its raining hard and you press you hand up against the top you can feel the rain drops hitting it Its not damp or dank or nasty or anything like that at all.

Just dont lower your top while its still wet or you may bet some mildew or something.

I had blizzak LM22s for the winter on my S2000 and it handled pretty well.
With some common sense of driving in adverse weather conditions and Blizzaks or any other dedicated snow tires, your S2000 should perferom relatively well.

In fact, alot of snow+empty parking lot could be loads of fun!

A friend of mine has one, and we got stuck up in the cleveland weather and it was for ****.. It took us 15 mins to drive to the cavs game. It was not snowing and was not calling for it at all.. But when you live in Ohio anything goes.. It took us 2 and half hours to get home...
