Default S2000 Hid's

Do all S2000's have HID's ? I know my friends red hard top does, but just wondering if they all do... I did a quick search only thing it came up with was putting them into other cars.

I'm not for sure if they do, it may depend on state law...some states outlaw HID's from what I understand. My Dad bought a BMW in Indiana and it came without the HID's because they didn't allow them where as the same BMW sold here in TX has HID's

They ALL do.

No states have outlawed HIDs. All states outlaw fake-***, non DOT HIDs. The Barney ones. Usually found on your ricer Civics and redneck pick-up trucks.

The dealer in Indiana must have been confused then because that's the reason he gave for the same cars having different lights.

I got tired of my hybrid hatch also. That's why I dumped it a few weeks ago and took home a silverstone MY01. I don't have a single regret and I don't think you will either.

hehe, you guys must think that DOT approved means legal. reading too many ricer light packages?

the DOT has no function in legalizing lights on cars.

Right on. No state has outlawed them. If anything, they will be outlawed in the whole country at one time, which I doubt will ever happen. The soccer moms that bitch and complain dont know the difference between an OEM equipped HID car and a 'HID kitted' or super-white car. Its the ricebois that put in HID kits and don't properly aim them and blind on-coming traffic that are being complained about.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure most of us have been high beamed even in our factory equipped HID cars. I know I have many times as have others I know. Some people just see the purplish look to our lights and automatically flash...

when I followed the HID boards (yea they have that) there was talk of an organization lobbying the NHTSA to change the law to force all new cars after a certain year with HID's to have auto-leveling devices on them to control the level of the headlights on hills and such. Auto-levels come standard on BMW's and Benz's but not on altima's and sienna's. Such an act would limit the availability of HID's on cars to uber luxery models. For some reason, that law didn't get passed.

HIDFORUM.com is a wealth of info, but man, these guys need to get a life. They've got major HID fetish like it's out of style (no offense to you VTECorona).

They absolutely love the S2000's lighting setup. I don't get it. I guess I've gotten used to it.

Well, you have to expect HID junkies at a forum soley for HID. As we all know, S2000 HID is one of the finest, nice light-spread, razor-sharp cutoff, and the famous colorful 'flicker.'
