i think its gonna be great...maybe it could take out a 350Z now....

WHoa ... i hope it stays mostly the same just with added power.

the f20c is fine as it is and it has no issues with competing with the 350z.
and i'm willing to bet that there will be some compromises made to stroke that baby to 2.2.
it's always a give and take
stay tuned

I completely agree, im just waiting cuz the 2002 prices will drop considerably(atleast hoping so). I say the redline will be brought down and the "new 2.2-liter engine for more torque and an enhanced interior highlighted by updated instrumentation" is just a marketing gimmick, it is also the same marketing gimmick that kept the s2000 name rather than following the S heritage and naming it S2200 (ie. s600 and s800; numbers referring to displacement)

Hey, I agree. I'm just saying.. Auto tranny will probably bring in some cash from the women that say "Oh what a cute car!", and I'm sure Honda knows that now.

there are actually alot of guys that dont know how to drive stick too...
.....thats when it gets really pathetic..
</TD></TR></TABLE>well I hear of too many girls that couldn't drive stick if their lives depended on it... most common response: "I dont want to have to think when I drive." Well, I guess that would explain why every accident i've ever been in wasn't my fault, and was started by a girl. Guess they were too busy 'not thinking'.
Er, anyways... man, im lookin forward to seeing the numbers this new setup produces. Sounds killer to me.

To guys that prefer automatic sports cars
To girls that prefer manual sports cars
My wife races our s2k so
to her
Anyway, to stay on topic, I think Honda will miss out on quite a bit of potential income by keeping the s2k manual only. Not that I like it, but I think the automatic in the s2k would be a good idea for them, and I think changing to the 2.2 liter will give them to torque to do it.

Block swap????
Stroker kit upgrade
Unless Honda is going to create a whole new engine, then you are going to see a stroked motor similar to the Mugen SS2200 show car. (250hp & 170 tq) It's cost effective.
JM2C
Possibility 1:
Stroke up the F20C (basically a new crank and some mild updates for pistons, rods, cams). Combustion chamber dimensions around 87x92.5 -- this is not as conducive for revs mabey 8500 rpm's (the trade off) Will it adopt an i-VTEC head? Both K-series and F-series use chain-driven cams. I wonder if the heads even line up? (tech info from EG6SiR)
Possibility 2:
Bore up the K20 series to K22??. BUT will it mate to the existing F20C longitudinal gearbox? You know the whole FWD vs. RWD issue. It would have i-VTEC, which would boost torque (as much as many ppl argue for peak power, engines operate over a range of revs unless you're using a CVT gearbox -- more usable power is always good). I don't see this one happening as it would cost TOO much for a mid cycle update.
Possibility 3:
Bring JDM S2000 Type V over and call in Type R, S, whatever. Add 4.44 gears and give US Market all JDM color choices + navigation system. THIS IS MY VOTE

mabey the car will have some torque finally. hopefully they change the gearing on the car as well.

Mid Cycle Updates of existing platforms = NO NEW BLOCK

Oh well, maybe that'll just make my s2k more valuable
