rollbar?
Sung Hi Lee
How much cutting is involved?
I am thinking about finding out what interior bits need to be cut, finding a wrecked S2K and obtaining those parts and using them to save the original bits so that the entire car will be intact when I sell it.
This is, of course, provided I buy an S2K in the first place.

well considering that it needs to bolt to the frame, i imagine there would be quite a bit of cutting required...

Hmph. This might be more trouble than it is worth, unless I can sell the car to someone that doesn't mind.
edit - your girl is a cutie for sure.

Sure there is. Mugen, Sp00n, Cusco, Carbing and most of the JDM tuners are FIA approved. But I hear these do not meet SCCA approval.

The only one that will be SCCA approved will be a custom roll bar or roll cage. I have been considering that Bitterman roll bar for my S2K but even the designer says it probably wouldn't pass SCCA specs. Depends on the height of the driver also. The bar cannot sit the required 2 inches over the drivers head and still be used with the softtop. It's almost impossible!

Elda Engineering has developed a bar that is supposed to be SCCA 1 legal. The bar will be available in a couple of weeks.
See the S2ki.com site and look under racing for the Elda Roll bar. Pictures of the pre production bar are in the forum.

That bar has been a couple weeks away for about 6 months. The prototype looks great but I'm not holding my breath. I appreciate the effort Elda Engineering is doing to produce a SOLO I spec bar but I wish they would be a little more accurate in estimating time to market.
