Roll bar for s2k
Is there a roll bar available that will still let the soft top close?
I want to buy an s2k but I know I'll end up on the track with it, and many groups won't let an open top car on course without a roll bar.

Are you talking about a roll bar or a cage? The S2000 has functional roll bars from the factory (the plastic hoops behind the seats actually cover steel roll hoops). For autocrosses and the like, that should be all you need. If you're looking for a roll cage, the only one I've seen is Mugen's. It's nice as hell too.
Yeah, I went and did a search on s2ki.com. I saw that cage and a few others. Looks like there still isn't a bar that will pass SCCA spec and let the soft top work. I know that cage and a few other bars would work for track days, but I think the SCCA specs are there for a reason and should be taken into consideration when buying a roll bar. I'm going to see if I can't find one that will work with a hardtop. I'm pretty sure solo1 requires a bar and a hardtop anyway. It would just be nice to still use the soft top with the bar installed and the hardtop off.

But once you put in a race seat (stock seats suck anyways) that problem will be solved.

Here's one that will still allow the soft-top to open/close. Chromoly goodness
The cage WAS built with SCCA regulations in mind, the only problem with that cage is that with the stock seats, your helmet wont be below the overhead bars by the mandated 2.5"

If you dont know SCCA rules dont post bad info... that cage will NOT be legal with just a seat to lower height, at a minimum it also needs the rear support bars off of the main hoop, nascar bars on the drivers side and door bar on the pass side.. I dont know what the tubing thinkness is on that bar but off the top off my head I believe you need 1.5x.120 atleast to meet SCCA specs.. oh yes, there is no way an SCCA legal cage will work with the soft top since the rear supports go where the soft top is, to be SCCA legal you need to have the softtop removed and the hardtop bolted (not latched) in place.
good stuff...but i like cusco styles where they curve around the dashboard and under it. :D but then again thats just me...
