Default replacing the top

I am looking at a particular S2000 to purchase 2005 Sebring silver, everything on the car is great shape, the only thing holding me back is the top has alot of wear marks that looks like just from being in the sun too much, it just gives a overall great looking car look pretty worn down.. so if I get this car at a great deal I must replace the top and it will look like a brand new car.. im just wondering how much will it cost overall to replace the top and where would be the best place I can look to to get this done? thanks for any help..

also how much can I pick up a mugen style hardtop for these days? I used to have a 2002 S2 a few years back and knew that those hardtops were runnin about $5k then, how much can I find one for now?

i think honda just put out a tsb for ap2 tops so you might get it replaced for free.... and mugen top depends on if you want fake or legit. If you want real mugen its gunna be round prolly 4 grand for a fiberglass one, and 5 to 6 for cf.

oh really? Ive looked that up and have found people mentioning it even threads about it here on Honda-tech, but havent found anything definitive about this

And through evasivemotorsports.com ive found they have authentic Mugen HTs with all necessary hardware ready for installation for $3600... I may just knuckle up and spend a little extra and go Mugen..

You can buy used (like new) complete AP2 tops with frames for around 8-900 shipped. These will take around 3hrs to install with a friend.

You can buy a used (like new) soft top only for around 400$ shipped. These will take around 6-7hrs to install with a friend.

You can buy a brand new non-OEM soft top for around 400-600$.

A new soft top installed at the dealer will run you around 1800-2000$ for parts and labor.

Most apolistry shops can install the soft top on the frame for you with no problems. Expect to pay for 6-8hrs of labor costs at said shop.

You can find painted Mugen tops for 3k used. You can find knock off tops for 2k shipped new.
