Default Radio dash controls

I have an after market headunit in my 05, and today i noticed that when the radio door is closed, you cant change channels or control volume. Is that the same with all radios in the s2k's or is something messed up with mine?

It can be controlled with the radio door open, but not closed. I bought the car with the aftermarket radio. Was the stock radio able to be controlled with the radio door closed?

Is the radio far back enough the door isn't hitting it? I bet the door is squishing some other button that's interfering with it.

You probably have an IR (infrared) controller instead of a wired one. This means the factory controls are transmitted to the stereo through the stereos remote control IR sensor. Like your TV remote control. You need to find the IR transmitter and align it with the stereos IR receiver so that it works when the door is closed.

Hope this makes sense to you...

It did in fact, but i ended up pulling that radio out..a cd was stuck in it so i hit the face of the radio and the cd came out along with cracking the head unit itself. Im gonna get an oem cd player for now.
