Say I had a line on a nice '04 S2000 that some goober had hydro-locked for $4500.

What can I expect as a reasonable price for a used F20 motor?

Can be 2.0 or 2.2, I'd actually like prices for both.

So hit me, what should I expect to pay?

2000-2500 is going price for a good Ap1 long block. Add $500-700 for AP2

 

pay the extra for the 2.2. if you put an ap1 in it people will hesitate to buy it if you plan on reselling it.

 

This is pretty accurate. Make sure to check to see if the vehicle has a clean title!
