Question
I'm in the process of overhauling my rear underchassis and came across a module. It's mounted on the rear beam and connects the rear beam to the left lower arm. Anybody knows what this is? Have been browsing the net for days with no luck. Brand of the module is Aisin.
Too late. Brought it down and cleaned it. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the emissions (fuel) system. It looks like an actuator mounted on the rear subframe w/the other rod like end connected to the rear lower arm. Seems pretty OE since it is only the left lower arm that has mounting provision (2x10mm bolts) the right lower arm doesn't. Can't say if it's an actuator or a sensor since the factory service manual doesn't mention it.
It's made of plastic, so chances are it doesn't modulate but rather senses the movement of the lower arm. But for what reason??? And only on one side??? Can't seem to find literature mentioning this.

Pics would definitely be helpful. I've been under mine MANY times and what you are describing still sounds like EVAP stuff. I would be really surprised if Honda installed a suspension travel sensor. Is there vacuum, or a rubber line going to it to actuate the "rod like end"?

No got this one from the US had it shipped here. Have no freaking idea what it is. Sensor of some sort. Too flimsy to actuate the lower arm, the thing that puzzles me is there's only one, on the left side.
someone on the other forum thinks it a sensor for self-leveling the head lights. seems plausible but i would think they use a digital angle meter for that.
do you know if your head lights have actuator motors in it.

Hmmm sounds plausible, have to look up on literature regarding this (air suspension). However can't seem to find any form of compressor or the like on the vehicle. Might need to trace back where the connection for the sensor went.
I had my doubts also, however seems pretty oem since the left lower arm and rear subframe have mounting provisions also had traced the harness and it goes to the OE rear harness and connects to socket 401 going to the dash, with all three wires showing continuity when traced. I still don't know what it is for.
That is yet to be proven since I can't seem to find any compressor or air device of some sort on the S w/the questionable part. Keep you guys posted will be stripping the dash and do some electrical tinkering later.
