question??
im thinking about to getting an s2k. but i have 2 park it outside the house i was wondering if you guys think it would get stolen, if so how long whats the most if would last in the street. And last are they easy for people to steal those type of cars.
why is there always some one with a smart *** remark. plus the reason im asking is because there arent that many parts you can use of the s2k and put on a civic or teg.
There's always a smart *** remark because of questions like this...
"Do you think my S2000 would get stolen if i park it outside?"
...it's like me asking everyone if i should walk outside today because sometimes meteors crash into earth and you have a better chance of getting hit by one if you walk outside so should i do it?

I fail to see why this is such a stupid question. As much as I like the ITR there is no way in hell I'll even think about buying one before I have a secure garage to park it. I think what this guy wants to know is if theft is a big enough issue to make owning an s2k without a garage a risky proposition. I don't really know the answer, but I haven't heard of too many being stolen outright. They seem to get broken into for the seats fairly frequently though.

Dan
of course its a stupid question
he hasn't told us where he lives, the type of neiborhood etc....and even still, you can't predict if your car is gonna be messed with, or stolen for that matter.
If your afraid your stuff is gonna get stolen, you might wanna think about buying another house than a new car.

thanks for the answer. im glad to see that there are some people that have a some productive to say. Rather then assuming that every one in here knows everything. and honestly just simply putting it at least you werent a dick about the question.
Awww...im sorry there big guy, didnt mean to hurt your feelings. How about this...
"Buy one and find out..."
...blunt? Yup...honest? Yup.
Who knows if it will get stolen, i live in a golf community, i could leave my wife's outside and someone could just decide one day that they wanted it, and bam, its gone...i've left it parked outside for hours in mid town Atlanta, i've left it parked outside overnight at my friends house in what i consider the ghetto...hasnt been stolen...
Bottom line...unless theres some fortune tellers here (and if there is, please let me know what the lotto #'s are)...if you base your decision on what an internet messege board says, well...lol, good luck to ya.

it's not that big of a deal when it comes to the S.... however there have been reports of the S being stolen for various things. the imobilizer helps you out but there's always ways around it. and there are parts people look for in the S to steal so they can sell them....
1. seats so ricers can put them in their civic or integra or whatever..
2. headlights/hid bulbs
3. stock and aftermarket wheels..
but i say get the car and dont' worry to much about it..
you will not regret it...

If you have full coverage insurance, who cares? You get a ridiculous amount of money for the seats and the top also I believe, so just buy the parts used later and you have extra cash laying around.
The only thing you have to really worry about is the antenna being stolen, since dumbass VW drives are obsessed with a stupid antenna. So, just put some lock tight on it, and you are fine.
