Default Pricing on S2000's

Is it just me or have the prices on our cars dropped a ridiculous amount?

I've been trying to sell my '02 in great condition and with AP2 conversion for 14.5k and I've gotten many offers.... of 13k

One company also gave me an offer of 9k

Should I hold out for 14.5k or is 13k really the best I can do? My car has 62k miles by the way

I agree. It seams they've gone down a bit in price within just a couple months. Not sure if it's because summer is gone and not as many people want to buy, or perhaps due to the economy. I actually just got my s2k a couple weeks ago and I knew for me it was hard because I needed a loan and the way the economy is right now it took me a couple weeks to get it and going from bank to bank. Banks have put all kinds of restrictions for getting a loan and especially used cars from a private party. I'd say hold out a bit longer for the best offer if you have the time, then drop it in price once you can't afford to wait.

Its the numbers on the s2k's out there, they've been out for too long in my opinion. 00-08 means they are not as special as they used to be. I bought mine in feb. of 07, was a 00 with 64k very clean, tried to sell with 74k modded for 13.5 and god lowballed. With the economy and summer.... might as well keep and enjoy it.

Now is not the time to sell your car. It's getting cold and the economy sucks. I can tell you I picked up my 02 with 70k at the beginning of the summer for a good bit less then your asking.

Economy is terrible and taking everything with it .. if you don't have to sell hold onto it for a while more. Whilst the price will obviously fall the more you keep it you will get more value in terms of use vs depreciation.

If you really need to sell hold out for a little more, maybe lower it to 14k, if you said you have a bunch of offers for 13k keep them in mind but hold out for a better price, at least for a while anyways

that and the economy sucks ***** right now. the only honda seeming to keep its value nowa days are clean 99-00 em1's. when i had mine 4 years ago i got it for $10k with 55k miles on it and im seeing them sell for around the same now. i guess thats do to that fact there arent many in circulation unlike the s2k's they've been for 9 years now

I'm not in any hurry to sell so I will prob hang on to it until I get 14k offer.

I bought it only 2 years ago for 18k ...

5k depreciation over two years seems kinda heavy!

The fact that brand new models are going for ~$6k under MSRP means that everyone is getting killed in the process.

Another option is to do a trade if you know the car you want. I'm trying to trade my S for an Accord.

I also got a few trade offers from Fit guys in FL.

You'll also have more luck if you are willing to sell to warmer climate states. Transportation is going to be a hassle.
